As fall is fast approaching, we have been dreaming about our tour of the Dordogne and Southwest France.
Pont Valentré, in Cahors, built in the 14th century with it’s 6 gothic arches and 2 remaining medieval towers (there were 3 when completed in 1368) is a beautiful place for a stroll. We will visit Cahor on our fall tour of Bordeaux, Dordogne & Languedoc.
Pont Valentre took seven decades, and, according to legend, a deal with the devil to complete.
On our tour, we enjoy the best food France has to offer in the Dordogne. This same region enjoys an annual Strawberry Festival in May, where the main event is the creation of a huge strawberry tart and of course, all of the visitors enjoying said tart.
