DAYS 1-3: SANTIAGO, MAIPO VALLEY & VALPARAISO: Santiago is one of the economic powerhouses of Latin America that has views of the Andes mountains. Our tour will enjoy historic highlights related to Chile’s modern and colonial era history. We will also take day trips to Valparaiso and the Maipo Valley from Santiago. Valparaiso is a vibrant, colorful collection of hillside houses overlooking the bay. Here you'll visit the summer house and now museum of Pablo Neruda, one of Chile's most prolific poets. Also located just a short drive from Santiago, the Maipo Valley is renowned for its stunning landscapes and exceptional wineries. We will visit 2 of the regions best wineries as well as take a guided trek through the lush Cascada de las Animas.
DAYS 4-6, SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA: San Pedro de Atacama is the desert town closest to the stunning desert scenery of the Atacama Desert. Our tour will go stargazing to see constellations impossible to see in major cities, take sunset tours of the Valle de Luna to see the picturesque landscape of the Atacama Desert, visit salt flats that extend as far as the eye can see where flamingos enjoy their natural habitat, see geysers at sunrise, and taste wines from one of the most unique wine producing regions in the world.
DAYS 7-9, PUERTO VARAS & CHILOÉ ISLAND: Puerto Varas is one of the capitals of Chile’s famous Los Lagos lake district region. Puerto Varas is one of the areas in Chile that had many immigrants from Germany. Today, it is possible to admire Germanic architecture in this region of Chile while also enjoying German cuisine and locally brewed German beers. Our tour will tour the lake district as well as see views of the snow capped Osorno Volcano. While in Puerto Varas, it is possible to visit Chile’s Chiloé Island, which is known for its myths, colorful stilt houses called palafitos, colorful wooden churches that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and unparalleled gastronomy.
DAYS 10-12, PUERTO NATALES & TORRES DEL PAINE: Chilean Patagonia has some of the most spectacular mountainous scenery in the world. Our tour of Chilean Patagonia will be based in Puerto Natales and will take a boat ride to see Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers as well as visit the spectacular lookout points of Torres del Paine’s majestic scenery.
DAY 13: Depart form Santiago International Airport.
