Did I mention our hotel in Brienz is beautiful? Too bad we have to leave… but the adventure continues!
You really can’t say you’ve experienced Switzerland until you see and sample the best cheese and chocolate in the world. So, onward to Gruyeres, the tiny Swiss town made famous by a great cheese. La Maison du Gruyeres was our first stop to see the process up close and personal.
Next stop on our route was Broc, where we toured Maison Cailler, the Swiss chocolate factory. After dutifully learning all about the process and why Switzerland makes the best chocolate in the world, they let us eat as much chocolate as we could without getting sick!
After cheese and chocolate, we stopped in the lovely resort town of Montreux on Lake Geneva. Montreux has a beautiful promenade along the lake lined with manicured flower gardens.
